Mulching. Why Mulch?

Mulching suffocates weeds. It will not get rid of all the weeds but it does help. Mulching also moderates soil moisture and temperature fluctuations. It is good to have about 3″ of mulch down in the summer time because it holds the moisture in. In the winter you need mulch to protect your plants from the severe cold. Mulch is also good for erosion control.

How Much Mulch?

Before you start to mulch, have a good idea of how much you will need.  A handy resource is Gardenplace.com’s Garden Calculator.

We supply Hardwood Bark Mulch (Both Brown and Black)
Components: Oak, Hickory, Ash, Maple, and Beech

Note: The Brown and the Black are the same but the Black has been dyed to a dark rich color. Personal preference is the only difference.

We sell mulch by the scoop. A scoop is about 1/2 cubic yard.

Brown: $15.00 a scoop
Black: $24.00 a scoop

Topsoil

Topsoil is ideal for:

• Raised flower beds and vegetable gardens
• Establishing new lawns
• Patching bare spots in your lawn
• Shrubs & Trees

We sell by the scoop. A scoop is about 1/2 a cubic yard.
